A calculator, not a bank.

Rent split started from a thread on r/roommates. One flatmate wrote about a room “twice the size of mine”, and then: “And we're ALL paying the exact same rent.” A fair split by room size is simple arithmetic. Agreeing on it is the hard part, so Rent split shows the sum and explains it.

Who makes it

Rent split is made by Tropos, a small software studio. The calculator is free, and so is every share link. A Pro pass pays for the hosting.

What we will never do

• Hold, move or collect your rent money.
• Ask your flatmates to make an account to see a split.
• Show ads, sell data or put trackers on the page.
• Charge you again without asking: a Pro pass does not renew.
